Women, as a whole, are a giving group. We do so generously and continually.
One definition of the word is “to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow.”
We give ALL THE time. Think about an average day; your busy schedule is filled with giving. Females “bestow” family and friends, colleagues, and strangers with the things that they need. We do these nourishing things lovingly.
We provide emotional support when we listen and love unconditionally; we build people up; we share joys and sorrows. For most of us, it is simply the way we are wired. Humans care about others. They give to others.
At this time of year, “GIVING” takes on a whole different meaning. It can become a monster of sorts. Shop, wrap, make, display, cook, donate, bake, decorate, dress, organize, drive, etc. It can be overwhelming when expectations exceed reality.
Cannabis is a consistent giver to us, as women, as those who “run the show”. I’ll call her “she” because we all know females are flower producers. She always provides for us. She is always there with an open hand. She gives many of us medicinal relief. She has the skill of helping us to “keep things the right size”. She helps us breathe. Breathe in the goodness of being and breathe out all of the "ick". She gives back to us with every exhale.
Keep that gorgeous spirit of giving without over-extending. Take time to listen to and respect yourself. Fill your bowl, share it, and enjoy the season!
For your consideration, I present the following debates that may be battling away in your brain along with a compromised solution for each!
- Store-Bought vs Hand-Made
- Shop on-line for one-of-a-kind gifts (think Etsy)!
- Take-Out vs From Scratch
- Support local restaurants; maybe try a food you've never had before!
- Perfection vs Reality
- Split up the “To Do List”; sharing is caring!
Do things with loved ones; not just for them. Practice being gentle with yourself. Read the next sentence out loud and fill in the blank.
"Today, I give myself permission to: ______________ " (fill in the blank).
What did you fill in? Say it aloud again and give it some ooomph! Here at Higher Self Box Headquarters, I will “fill in the blank” by giving myself permission to K-I-S-S (Keep It Simple, Shirley). I will meditate and medicate and go with the flow. I will consciously consume by micro-dosing and in doing so, I will consciously enjoy the seasonal scents, sounds, and scenes.
How are YOU looking to bring even more joy into your holidays? What have you given yourself "permission to do or not do?" Share your ideas with us in a DM, an e-mail (hiya@higherselfbox.com), or by tagging us @higherselfbox. We would love to hear from you. Wishing you peace and light. Blaze on, Beautiful.
